Catherine was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She studied art at the University of New Mexico before embarking on her unorthodox education as a world traveler, student of tribal cultures, and mysticism.
She has traveled to Germany, Spain, Italy, Greece, China, India, Bali, Papua New Guinea, and many states in Brazil including Amazonas.
She has lived in Albuquerque and Santa Fe, New Mexico, Ibiza, Spain, Los Angeles and San Francisco, Seattle, and Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii.
In addition to her study of tribal spirituality and Shamanism, Catherine’s spiritual explorations have included years studying – Catholicism, Hinduism, Sikh Dharma, Sufism, and Buddhism.
Catherine is certified in two professional fields including:
- Certification from the Association Montessori Inernationale in 1969 to teach Montessori pre-school. She taught until 1973 in a Montessori Elementary school, The Montessori Academy, in Redwood, Washington.
- Certification in 1984 in Neuro Linguistic Programing (NLP) and Ericksonian Hypnosis from the co-creators of NLP, John Grinder and Judith DeLozier. From 1985 through1990 she had a counseling practice using NLP and Ericksonian Hypnosis.
Catherine has had several 5-year careers. In addition to Montessori schoolteacher and NLP Practitioner, she ran a small retail shop in Bellevue, Washington selling Southwest Indian silver and turquoise jewelry, Navajo rugs, Hopi Kachina dolls and baskets, and pueblo pottery.
She returned with her boys to New Mexico in 1979 where she worked as the systems supervisor for the computer at KGGM Television, the local CBS affiliate in New Mexico owned by her family in Albuquerque. This meant she was the point person for the conversion of the television station accounting system from a manual system to a computerized system. From 1981 to 1983 she produced the television variety show High Country, hosted the interview talk show You’re On the Air, and edited the movie 13 Broadcast Plaza.
In 1991 she moved to Santa Fe, NM where she currently manages the offices of two local philanthropists.
Catherine has a life-coaching practice in Santa Fe where she helps individuals on their emotional and spiritual journeys, She enjoys spending time with her sons, gardening, and singing, and is of service in a variety of community activities.
